Disturbed - Maine (Work in progress)
Disturbed, a series of seven multichannel installations, depicts, through subtle digital disruptions and a polyphony of testimonies, the emotional impact of climate change on individual lives.
I recorded the project’s first section in New Mexico (winter 2023), the second in Louisiana (fall 2023), the third in Alaska (summer 2025), and the fourth and fifth in Maine and Wyoming (summer 2026). Two additional sections (California and Hawaii) will be produced in 2027-28. Together, the locations provide a sample of U.S. environmental, geographic, and demographic range.
The Maine installation is constructed of a single, split curved screen, upon which are projected scenes from the eroded Maine shore. The scenes are accompanied by the story of a young Bengali immigrant to the US.
